Catching up!

Remember me!? I'm so sorry for being so behind on posting! Thanks for hanging in there, ladies! Needless to say, there's a lot to catch up on. But's an outfit!

Blouse: Anthropologie Vanilla Bean Blouse 2010, Jeans: JCrew
I wore this to my friend's Madrigals and Beverages Party, which is just as nerdy as it sounds. Bunch of musicians get together, drink wine and sight-read four part Renaissance English Madrigals together. Don't judge, it was hella fun. This was pre- Helios Early Opera rehearsal process time. We put on a GREAT show in January! David et Jonathas was a success for this young opera company.

Cast photo - Photobombed by our Stage Director!!
The Boston Pheonix really liked us! I actually met Mr. Schwartz in the line last weekend to see another opera. He was super nice! I was so honored to be a part of such a neat production with a wildly talented cast. Unlike the last opera I was in, I sang A LOT. Unfortunately, the second day of Tech Week, I was stricken with norovirus. We opened 4 days later and I was okay to perform then, but I really have not been right since. Which leads me to...

...why I've been away. I've been pretty sick. Since getting sick last month, I never really recovered all the way. I lost nearly 18 pounds from my appetite being next to nothing. I was just under 110lbs to begin with, so you can imagine how thin I've gotten. So, I have not been motivated to photograph myself, understandably.  I am scheduled to see a gastroenterologist next week to hopefully get some answers, but that's a long story short. So, THAT'S why I've been away from my blog, quite frankly. I've wanted to go to Anthro and do some reviews for you, but sadly, nothing will fit appropriately right now and I'm afraid the reviews won't be very helpful. Until I get back to a healthy weight, I probably won't be posting any reviews. I may find the courage to post some OOTDs if I feel like I don't look too unhealthy.

I've been keeping up with all of you ladies in the bloggyland! Loving some of the new Anthro Dresses! Especially...

Burgeoning Hypericum Dress

OH...I die. Yes, it's the same shape Girls from Savoy tends to go for, but the pattern, whoa. I need this dress in my life. This may be a rare full-price purchase. Which new arrivals are your faves this season?

  1. Welcome back Kay! I am sorry you have been sick for the last while :( And that dress is adorable, it would be adorable on you too!

  2. Oh no...I'm sorry to hear you were sick. I hope you appetite is back and your feeling better. You look great in the outfit picture!! The Burgeouning Dress is gorgeous and I can totally see you wearing it!! And I hope I do actually get to see you wearing it soon :)

  3. Thanks, Jess! Glad to be back! I hope to be back to fighting shape soon! The dress is like straight out of heaven, I MUST have it!

  4. Sayaka! I hope my appetite comes back soon. I've turned into quite the drama queen when it comes to getting a meal down. I hope I figure out what's going on. I may spoil myself with the dress soon! :)

I hope you are able to figure out what is going on quickly. Feel better!
I tried that dress on last week, and it is beautiful.

  6. I'm so sorry to hear you haven't been well! I hope the doctors are able to figure out what has been going on! Hugs and I'm sending digital healthy thoughts you're way!!

  7. so I chuckled and read out your madrigals drinking party description to my bf, 'cause it was awesome. I'm so sorry you've been having health problems- I hope you regain your appetite soon, and in spades, so you can burgeon out of that hypericum dress!

I must admit to finally caving and ordering the Rodna dress when it popped back recently (I swear, I talked myself out of that dress like 20 times...)

  8. I'm so sad I missed out on Rodna! It's so amazing! I think this is my season Full-price purchase before it gets away!

LOL, that party was so much geeky fun! After I got home, I was like; "I just sightread some Schütz tipsy. Good times!"

  9. Thank you! I hope so too! I am so tired of being sick :(

How is the fit of the dress?

  10. I think that new dress would look really nice on your skin tone. It is really long though, just so you know. I'm 5'8" and it was past my knee(just past it)....not a bad thing for my height....but some other women might find it too long(although I know some people care more about this than others). Just thought I'd mention it though.

I didn't buy the dress personally. It was nice but I have other dresses that fit me better. It wasn't the length with me's just something about this cut(because I didn't like the Rodna Halter Dress on myself either). I prefer the Nostalgic Asterisks Dress and Lepidoptera Dress from last year(both of which I own). Aside from my height my frame is similar to yours since I also generally wear size 0 but I kind of prefer dresses that puff out a little more in the skirt because my hips aren't very wide(32") so I feel that some others give me a bit more of a feminine look and add at least a bit of curves.

It's a well made dress though and I recommend it if it works for you. Despite the fact that I didn't get it myself, I did pick it up for my sister in her usual size and hopefully it will work for her(she won't get to try it on until August so hopefully her usual size fits since I bet the dress will be long gone by then).

Oh and just so you know the lining of this dress....the last few inches of lining near the bottom of the dress are this really pretty mustard yellow colour!

  11. Thanks, Kathleen! It sounds like I would like it! I may try and drop by Anthro on my way home from work today.
