Distracted by Pokémon and an OOTD

Happy Friday, Ladies! Here's why I've been away from my blog. Confession, I LOVE video games and always have since I was about 10 years old when I first got my NES System. I've been pretty brand loyal to Nintendo and I have some favorite games but one of my favorite game is actually Pokémon. In 2003, I had some extra money kickin' around and I said to myself: "Why is Pokémon SO popular?! It looks crazy. I'll go pick up a copy and find out." Well, after that I was hooked and when Pokémon Black and White Version came out Sunday, I couldn't WAIT to pick up my copy. I actually picked up my copy Tuesday night after I got done teaching and fired it up Wednesday afternoon after work. I have not been able to put it down since...so...that's why I haven't been blogging.

And now, this is what I wore on Wednesday:
Welcome to my music room! This is where I do all my practicing and business and seed sprouting! It's almost seed planting time for me!!! Anyway, I loved wearing the Waffle Weave Dress with black today. It looks pretty cute! The Stretching Sprigs Cardi is getting a lot of play lately! LOL

So, short post today...back to Pokémon!

More Reviews: Pretty Spring Dresses (Plus a Skirt)

Good evening, readers! I have some more Anthropologie Dressing Room Reviews for you!

Inkwell Skirt $98 Edme & Esyllte

Here's a poofy skirt! I love a good poofy skirt and here is one that caught my attention on the selling floor. I personally love it and think it's adorable. If you are worried at ALL about accentuating hips, then this skirt is NOT for you due to the crinoline that this skirt has and the horizontal striped pattern. If you are straight up and down like me and don't mind a little help in that area. There is a petite size available AND it has pockets, hooray! I think it's a adorable! Wishlisted!

Great Dot Maxi Dress $158 Moulinette Seours

Something about this dress made me want to try it on. I passed it by twice and looked at it hard. I know maxi dresses and mini people don't really go well, but I couldn't resist. Something about it is very cute and I love the idea of the red belt to go with it in the description. This pic features the tie from my sweater as a belt. The bodice didn't do much for me. The little layer behind the cowlneck seems to stick out and not go with the dress. I like it...it might look better on a taller person. It's probably not for me, but I actually like it. Wishlisted for someone who isn't me at sale time.

Hydrangea Petals Maxi Dress $228 Moulinette Seours

Oh. My. I was very, very surprised by this dress. First off, it's GORGEOUS. Second, the fit is amazing. Third, it comes in a petite size!!!!! OH. MY.

Okay, so it's no secret I am in love with this maxi dress. I was leaning toward the Irresistible Maxi for my April Concert, but now I'm torn. This is $50 more, but OH, do I love it so and I feel it fits the style of music I'm performing a little more (Baroque English Lute Songs). The quality on this dress is what expect from Anthropologie. It's a gorgeous, soft silk with a great silk lining, so it has a significant dress feel, not a chemise feel. It's flying under the radar, but it's gorgeous. Wishlisted for Birthday Haul!!!

Tuileries Dress $158 Moulinette Soeurs

This pretty little frock caught my attention 3 weeks ago in the store when I picked up my Color-Dipped Dress. The print is so me! I love plants and I love to garden!!!! OMG!!! Getting a flashback...Sugar and Cream Dress. That dress was DARLING on the hanger. I hated it once it was on me.

Here we go again. The top portion of the dress is fairly baggy on me. And once on, I found the cute botanical book pattern busy and distracting. Bleh. This was heart-breaking as when I saw this dress on the hanger, it was totally adorable. I still think it's adorable - as long as I'm not wearing it. Gals with small chests will find the bodice a little baggy, but aside from that, the fit is fine. I love the ribbon belt! The perfect width! I will pass on this dress, but it's classic Anthro whimsy and I recommend it. Sadface for me. Ya win some, ya lose some.

Berry Months Dress $148 We Love Vera

Squeeeeeeeeee!!!! It's a dress with strawberries on it!!!!!! Speaking of gardening, strawberries are one of my very favorite things to grow. The giant, mutant berries that you get from the grocery store are tasteless and lame compared to the intense flavor or an itty-bitty homegrown alpine strawberry. It's like strawberry BAM, POW!

This dress is adorable and the fit is great. I was wearing it with the straps since it was merchandised that way, but going strapless would be no problem. What can I say? It's adorable! This has summertime written all over it and the quality is very good. And YAY! Petite Sizing available! Wishlisted!!!

Around the Maypole Dress $158 Girls From Savoy

Here is a truly strapless dress, no strap option here. That being said, I thought the fit was spot on and I loved this dress. Girls From Savoy loves this dress shape, but so do I and I love that they keep churning them out! I love the subtle pattern on the skirt and bodice. This dress is pretty darn perfect. Girls From Savoy pwning all the other in-house designers for me this season! Wishlisted!!

Magellan Dress $158 Maeve

This dress is not as beautiful in photos as it is in real life. It's very gorgeous and the photos are making it look weird. First off, the fit is fantastic. The belt portion of the dress is a lovely rope material and it's just really neat. It's got crazy patterns on it, but it does not seem busy to me. It's very ocean blue and it reminds me of an awesome Bermuda vacation. It's gorgeous, machine washable and comes with pockets. What's not to like? WISHLISTED!

There you have it!! Is everyone planning on an awesome weekend?

Reviews: New Spring Pretties & Sale Scores

Good morning, Ladies! It's a Wednesday Sale Day! Did anyone get anything good? I spent a lot of time i the dressing room trying on things for you guys! Here's my first installment for your enjoyment!
Here's what I wore today, which was actually the second outfit of today. I had my Tiny Windows Dress on at my job, but dressed down for walking in the city wind.

This is a simply gorgeous top. It is wispy, light and airy and has the simplist little design on the front. This was actually a size two since the 0 was not available. I wanted to try it anyway, and I think the fit was decent, although a 0 would have been perfect. I do not normally gravitate towards flowy blouses, but this is amazing. It's sheer and it has NO lining, so you need a tank or a cami underneath this. Wishlisted for sale time.

A-Bit-Unruly Top $48 Deletta

This little top has been reviewed quite a bit, so I'll be brief. Yes, it's quite sheer. I don't understand why tops at Anthro have to be so sheer, but whatever. I had a dark tank on underneath so it worked well. It's cute...the navy stripes are okay, but it made me feel a bit like I was in an old-fashioned prision suit. I think the stripes were too big for little ole' me. Pass for me, but I do recommend this. The fit was okay if not a little on the large side, but the looseness of it didn't bother me.

The Gathering Tank $48 Deletta

It seems to be this season's Molded and Melded Tee...the piece that everyone seems to love. It's a reasonable price point for Anthro and it sure is cute. I think it's running a little large for someone who is xxs. I would buy this if I came across it on the sale rack and it was $9.95. I really like it, I just don't think it's magical. Wishlisted for second-cut sale time!

Heart's Desire Cardigan $98 Yoon

I have been really attracted to this little cardi on the website. The little hearts are so adorable. However, my beef with it is that it's hard to tell that they are stitched hearts unless someone told you (maybe that's just me). It made me sad that size small is the smallest size available. I actually don't much like the green, but I actually am interested in the ivory. It was very soft and fit well (although, I lament for the possibility of an xs). I really think it's a great base essential and I have wishlisted the Ivory for sale time. I really liked the fact that it had snaps instead of buttons. I like snaps. OH SNAP!!!!! sorry.

The two things (yes TWO. I was only prepared to take one item from the sale, but I broke down. LITERALLY Broke down, because now I'm broke.) I took home were the D'armee Dress and the Craftmanship Capelet. I cannot believe I took the D'armee Dress, but I tried it on with a belt and it was MAGICAL. The belt changes everything and YES, I did buy the khaki. I can hear my Mary Shirtdress crying right now. Mary, I promise to give you the appropriate wear time...after all...you have 3/4 sleeves.

I had never really given the Craftmanship Capelet a try. But today it was 47º out and I thought to myself, what would be perfect on a not-so-cold, but still-kinda-chilly day? A capelet!!! I grabbed it to try it and fell in love. I actually prefer this colorway to the yellow one. I think it's a little more "me". I am really impressed by the quality of this little cape! It's comfy, cozy and it has the two things I love the most, a tie and SNAPS!!! At $59.95, the price was right. There are still a few at the Boston store!

Coming up on the next round of reviews are some dresses!! I am excited to share with you the dress reviews...SO MANY PRETTIES!!!!!!

Tuesday Night at the Opera: OOTD

Today was totally awesome. I started out the day with a HUGE cup of coffee from Dunkin Donuts. I don't normally buy coffee (my coffee maker gets a LOT of work. It's MUCH cheaper), but I was out this morning and it was my day off so I decided to treat myself. I played Rune Factory Frontier all day and then decided since it was the closing night of Cardillac at Opera Boston...I would treat myself to that as well! My hubby teaches a college course on Tuesday nights, so I was home alone anyway.

It was SO EXCELLENT! It was a three-act opera by Paul Hindemith and there were no intermissions, but none were needed - it was riveting. Check out the libretto, as you can see it's a very dark-themed story. I was so happy I randomly decided to take my lazy butt down to the Theater District!

The Karelia Coat was screaming; "You're going to the opera?! You have to wear me!". So, I did. It's 31º tonight and I was surprisingly not freezing in this as my coat. I wore elbow length gloves and a scarf underneath since I had to walk a half a mile to train. I was pretty comfortable and feeling sassy.

Coat: Anthropologie Karelia Coat
Dress: Anthropologie Peggy Sue Dress
Cardi: Anthropologie Moth Cardi (thrifted)
Shoes: Anthropologie Glad Rags T-Staps
Scarf: J Crew (2008)

It's a color bonanza!!!! I felt fab in this dress! It's the first time I have worn both of these pieces and the shoes. I walked a half a mile in those shoes! It wasn't bad (although, it wasn't great either).

I also got a love note from Anthropologie saying they had gotten a lot of new pieces in for spring and to come in and make an appointment with the personal shopper. I thought this was a really nice touch for such a big store since it was a handwritten note. I feel bad though, because I really don't have the cash to spend on full price stuff right now because I'm spending most of my money on lessons and coachings. We'll see how solid my resolve is when markdowns happen this week! I am getting a few good gigs, so I'll have a little extra cash soon :)

Good night ladies!
