OOTD: Botanical Limp

Good evening, ladies! Well, if you're reading this, you obviously didn't get taken up by the Rapture today. So, I thought I'd celebrate being left behind by wearing my beloved Botanical Stroll Dress...except I was not exactly strolling today. I've got 4 stainless steel screws in my ankle (tibia, not fibula) and for the last 3 weeks, they have really been giving me trouble. Pain. Well...today, I woke up and was barely able to walk. I've been limping all day and in extraordinary pain like I was after surgery. I have a sneaking suspicion that one of the screws has started to come loose and it kills with every step. There was so way I could stand at work today, so I sadly had to stay home and nurse it. It's the weekend and the doctor I talked to advised me there was nothing I could do until Monday, short of going to the ER. Not doing THAT.

So, I'm looking at the prospect of going under the knife again, this time to get un-screwed. I had a horseback riding accident in 2007 during which I broke my ankle. I'm hoping that once the hardware is dealt with, I can get back to life, but we'll see what the surgeon says first.

Anyway, I still had to attend a rehearsal (got to sit!) and it was actually sunny today for a while!

Dress: Anthropologie Botanical Stroll Dress, Cardigan: Banana Republic

Ankle Ouchies!

Hey, Paddington! Your picture is on this dress!
This dress is really sweet. It's too light to wear during a cooler season but it's perfect for a warm spring day. I think it's the only Floreat Dress I own and it fits like a glove! I love it!!! And the cardi goes with it perfectly...totally a coincidence.

  2. This dress is so cute on you! Every cat lover should own this. I wore it to my son's high school graduation party last summer, and can't wait to wear it again-- Of course since it feels like we live in Scotland, who knows when that will be. Seriously what the heck is up with the weather in New England?? arghhhhhh! Hope your ankle is a relatively simple fix and feels better soon. Leslie

  3. I'm sorry about your foot- that's such a horrible feeling to have a remembered pain that like coming back. I hope you don't have to go through too much to get back to yourself.

I remember being slightly off this dress when it came out- I guess I felt the cat part of the print wasn't defined enough, too blotchy- but I certainly came to appreciate it. It's such a sweet piece.

  4. Oh no, sorry about your ankle Kay. I hope you get it fixed and that it'll be less painful at least.
You're looking very pretty in this outfit - your cat is so cute in that last picture...it's like it's seen its reflection in your dress!

  5. I'm sorry about your ankle! I love this outfit, though.

By the way, how tall are you? I'm thinking of ordering the Mompos but I'm wondering if the 0 will be too long on me. (I'm only 5 ft tall.) Thanks!

  6. Peggy: Thanks, you're so sweet!

Leslie: Thanks! I love that others still love this dress. I was lucky enough to find this on sale long after it had sold out most places (I think someone returned it). And WHAT is up with the weather? I'm so depressed!!!

thatdamngreendress: The cats certainly aren't very defined, they're very abstract. And thanks about the ankle thoughts...surprisingly enough, feels okay today, but still going to the surgeon on Thursday.

Jen: I'm HOPING and PRAYING that they can take out the hardware. It might be a bit of a PITA, but I'm willing to be gimpy for a week for lifetime relief. And I think Paddington can see his resemblance too!

Anon: Thanks! I'm 5'1, so I only have an inch on you. Most of the length is in my legs as my torso is very short, but I think it will be fine on you too!
