Second Cuts PSA

Good Morning, Ladies! I noticed some items took a second cut this morning! Here are some of the good ones I noticed!

Finally, this cutie takes a second cut. How can you not love the fun ocean print with the octopus? I may consider this now.

I have a special relationship with this little dress. My friend got married this summer and she wanted all of her bridesmaids to wear navy blue dresses and this dress saved me when I couldn't find any dresses to fit me. You can't beat this price now! This didn't get a lot of community love but I love it! It's a cute little frock!

This is a cutie! It's not something that I would pick up, but it's definitely a cute dress.

I think this is really cute. The flower applique was too overwhelming for my frame, but I would have snapped it up had I been able to pull it off! Fits well and is super amazing! Such a great price now!

Really pretty!

Pinochle Skirt now $19.95
What a fun print! I tried this on and it's adorable! How can you beat that price now!?

There are a few more cuts that I noticed, so check the sale page to see if your coveted piece is on mega-sale! The Green Thumb Belt is now $9.95!!!!! Happy Hunting everyone!

OOTD: Plains and Prairies (And I need a new yellow cardi)

Happy Tuesday! What did everyone score from today's markdowns? I love Tuesdays, because I get to dress up for the music lessons I teach! It's a nice change from my other work uniform which is comfy, but not as fun and varied as my Anthro stuff!

My little yellow JCrew Jackie Cardigan is getting a lot of airtime. I own at least 7 or 8 other cute cardis, but this is the only yellow one and lately, it seems to be going with all my dresses. I wanted to pair this dress with something else, but look at the catalog shot!

How could I not be inspired to pair with a yellow cardi? I wish I had a yellow Abuzz Cardi, but alas...

J. Crew: Jackie Cardigan, Anthro: Plains and Prairies Dress

May I add, that I love this little dress and it's the ONLY Moulinette Soeurs dress that fits me. I tried this particular dress on a few weeks ago and it was on the sale rack for 79.99 I think. I couldn't justify the $80 sale price, but this week (or last week), it got a second cut and I couldn't pass it up at $39.99. It's just so cute and flattering. It's actually very well-made and the quality is outstanding. I know this dress didn't get a lot of community love, but I think it's a sweet little frock and right now it's a sweet deal at $40.

Broadcasting in Anthro!

Happy Sale Tuesday, everyone! I am soooo excited that three items (really four, but I'm going to not get all of them) from my wishlist are now on sale! The Dagmar Dress was number one, but I am also thrilled that the Lost Time Skirt and the Flight of Fancy Top are now on sale! Holy Cuteness! Holy Wallet Hell!

My good friend Dereck and I started a really silly internet radio talk show sort of in the spirit of a hot talk show like The Don and Mike Show, The Ron and Fez Show and The Sports Junkies. I have always been a fan of hot talk radio and when I was a little kid, I would spend hours and hours recording into my Fisher Price brown tape recorder with my own homemade folly and everything. My friend and I have always wanted to host our own silly show, so we are now two weeks into it. Check it out, if you're interested...we are still working out the kinks!

Anthro: Red Delicious Blouse, Anthro Split Decision Cardigan, Gap Kids Jeans, Natrual Soul Shoes
Anyway, of course I wear Anthro to broadcast! It's become Autumn seemingly overnight here in Boston and it's become lovely during the day and cool at night. I was excited to have the opportunity to wear some of my new cardis that I scored during the Labor Day Sale! The Red Delicious blouse (We Love Vera) was a VERY lucky sale find. I was totally smitten by it when I saw it and was so lucky to find it all by its lonesome, on the sale rack in my size! I'm also in love with the Split Decision Cardi! It's sooooooo comfy and cozy and the ruffles on one side are just adorable. I'm still a little freaked out that I am now buying my jeans at Gap Kids, but I suppose it's good because, I finally have found jeans that fit properly and they certainly are very cheap.

That's all I've got for now! Hope you ladies are having a great sale day!

Happy Friday & OOTD

Being a performing artist, I also have many friends who do the same. I was fortunate enough to be free tonight to see my good friend Pat who I went to college with. He is part of the comedy duo Booth and Pat and they were in Boston for one night as part as Boston Improv Festival! They were HILARIOUS and I was so happy to get to see the show! They are based in NYC, so if you ever get a chance to see them, do it!!! Afterward, we went out for drinks and foods and...Of course, I was wearing Anthro!

Anthro: Soft Scalloped Cardi in Moss
Anthro: Clusters of Light Tank
Gap (Kids) Jeans
Jeffery Campbell peeptoe wedges

I felt great in this outfit! The Clusters of Light Tank is really special, I'm surprised only one size (mine!) is sold out online since it went on sale. Maybe it will get a second cut. It is very delicate, but it's just so beautiful on! It looks great dressed up or dressed down with jeans. I'm sold! Goodnight everyone!

OOTD: Pigment & Canvas

I was so happy to find this dress at its second cut price in a size 0 (which is actually a bit snug in the bodice today. Maybe I ate too much at lunch). Going to tea with a friend!

I love the this dress. The pattern by Natalie Lete is so vibrant and the fit is really spot on! I also own another Natalie Lete piece, the Flight Round the Garden Skirt and I love it just as much. This dress was such a lucky find! It's the perfect fitted summer dress!

Reviewed: Four Dresses and a Cardigan

Good evening, readers! I have been SO busy these last few days, I've hardly had time to blog. Whilst everyone was relaxing during Labor Day weekend and eating BBQ, I was working my little size 0 tail off! Business was BOOMING in my store this Labor Day and our empty product shelves show it! I had no time to wear any Anthro (sad face), but I did have time to go and try on a few of my favorite things...dresses.

I don't know why I'm so obsessed with dresses. It could be the whole opera singer/romantic thing or the fact that I have to wear a tee shirt, jeans and sneakers to work everyday, but I love a cute dress! Here's some I tried on at Anthro a few days ago :)

Violet Gloaming Dress: $268 Moulinette Soeurs

This dress sure is pretty. So were all of the Moulinette Soeurs dresses I tried on. You know what all those dresses had in common? They were ALL too big for me. I tried this on, hoping to be surprised. I wasn't. This was huge on me...especially in the armhole region. Petite girls, resist the urge to try this on, because it will make you cry. It's so pretty. It really is. But, it's really just awkwardly cut in my opinion. The bodice is not fitted well. I think the sash and the sleeves are really cute, but that is all. For $268? FAIL.

Along with Anthropologie, I also happen to have a passion for tea. I love black tea, green tea, white tea, rooibos tea and honeybush and herbal. I have an entire drawer in my kitchen (a big one!) FULL of loose teas and tea gear. You can imagine my excitement when this dress was released!

I was underwhelmed by it on my person. Something about the gray isn't flattering with my skintone. If the base color were not this gray, I would probably feel differently. The teacups are so cute and it is a soft silk and doesn't feel cheap or anything. The sash that comes with the dress is adorable! The print is really whimsical and really something I would go for in a heartbeat. I'd consider it if it went on sale...like...really, really on sale. It's just not my cup of tea though at the end of the day (you KNEW that was coming).

Love Letter Sweater: $188 Laureate Lane

Now for a sweater. The love letter cardi is just...breathtaking. So is the price. I, however am deeply in love with it. It's comfy and has neat hook and eye closures which give it a clean look when you close it. The bead work on it is spectacular. It's just a little gem of a sweater. I'd be traumatized if the beadwork started coming off, which is my only concern. This would have to go on sale or I'd have to win the lottery to buy it, but it's totally on my wishlist.

You know what's happening next payday? This dress is coming home with mama. It's so flattering and comfortable. The navy blue corduroy is soft and feels warm without feeling bulky. Pair with a pair of boots, a belt and an undershirt and you've got yourself a cool-weather staple. I LOVE this dress!

Waffle Weave Dress: $118 Ric Rac

At 98 lbs, I didn't think there was a dress in the world that could make me look fat; Until I tried on this dress. Really? What is going on here? It's really comfortable and I like the stretchy waffle material (kind of a boring name, by the way. "Waffle Weave Dress"? Snoozefest.) and the length is nice, but...this dress adds 10 lbs to my frame somehow. It's like an Anthro Fatsuit, plus it's a rather drab color. Bleh. Pass.

*Update 11/29 - I've had a total change of heart regarding this little dress. It's grown on me and I actually just ordered one (on a popback, yay!), so we'll see how I feel about it when it gets here. I'm so fickle.

So there you have it! I have the day off tomorrow so hopefully, I'll get to post at OOTD! Hope you all are having a great Wednesday!

Reviewed: Some Autumn Dresses

Happy Weekend, Ladies! I'll bet a lot of you are excited about this Holiday weekend! I am excited too! I work retail and I'm excited about the flood of sales we are anticipating this weekend...bring it! It's weekend and for me, that means weekend Super Smash Bros Brawl, Food and Drinks. My husband, my good friend and me have this dumb tournament going for like 5 years. Super Smash Bros Brawl is a fighting game for the Nintendo Wii. It features all of Nintendo's Trademark characters such as Mario, Kirby, Zelda...etc. The rules are simple...damage your opponent and knock them off the screen for a KO. The more you pummel your opponent, the lighter they become and easier for them to fly off the screen. I happen to be a Pikachu player. Why? Cause he's adorable and super annoying when he kicks people's asses.

Anyway...we get together and play 2 minute rounds. Whoever gets to 100 KO's first (within 2, like tennis) wins the night and doesn't get a punishment. Punishment for coming in 2nd is that you make the cocktails during the next game. Punishment for coming in 3rd is that you order (and possibly) pick up the food at the next game. The person with the most KO's at the Fall/Spring Equinox, or Summer/Winter Solstice wins the season. Kind of crazy...but it's what we do once a week. So, now you know that not only am I am Anthro Fanatic, I'm also a NERD.

Anyway, I made my way over to the one store I didn't visit yesterday to do some reviews. Of course, I had to look to see what was going on in the sale room and look what I found:

By the way something, I am blatantly stealing copying Cat from Anthrosdottir's photo technique because I am sick of holding the camera. I don't think I did as good of a job as she usually does, but you get the picture (no pun intended). Anyway...behold! The elusive Two-Wheeler Shirtdress (on sale $59.99)!!!!!!! They had at least 5 or 6 at the Natick, MA store this morning. There was a woman in line behind me with one in her hot little hands too. This was the only 0...of course I nabbed it. Shopping Moratorium FAIL.

In the meantime, I did try on some dresses!

Cascading Bow Dress $118
Moulinette Soeurs

As you can tell by the look on my face, I don't really think this dress is working for me. I am officially too petite for Moulinette Soeurs dresses because this is the 3rd one I've tried on that's too big. I also don't particularly like this dress for myself because the shape is not flattering, but the bows are cute. The material is substantial and good quality. It's a cute dress, just not for a little teeny person like me who buys their jeans at Gap Kids.

Turbine Dress $118 Deletta

So, obviously, I have not mastered the art of posing for these photos and looking like I don't want to commit a homicide. This dress is very basic and not quirky enough for me. It is a super soft jersey and the front is nice. The dress is very basic and cute. It fits TTS and the pockets are nice, although I question pockets on a jersey dress because you can see everything you put inside.

Ruffled Plaid Dress $158 Floreat

Here was a dress I could handle! I LOVE THIS. It's so pretty in person and there are several reviews on the website that say that it is itchy, but I didn't find that it was itchy at all. The size 0 fit well, and I think it's a really sophisticated little frock. The belt is cute, but not very special. You may want to put on a nicer belt. This is definitely on my wishlist for sure!

That's all I've got for you! Wish me luck in the Smash Tournament tonight!
