I actually was planning on being a good girl and abstaining from this week's sale, but when I logged on to my wishlist, I noticed that the High Tea Trousers had taken a second cut from $60 to $30 and the Taking Flight Loungers, which I have been drooling over just about FOR-EVER had shifted to sale from $48 to $30 and I had to pounce. They are just sooooo cute and I have not bought a new pair of pj pants in ages. They just shipped today (after saying they were backordered which took some of the wind out of my sails). I haven't actually tried the trousers on and reviews say they run ridiculously small, so they might not even fit, which would suck. We'll see what happens. In the meantime, I have some quick reviews for you!
Lappula Dress $168 Edme & Esyllte
This dress is really cute! I spied it on the rack and I snatched it right up to try on! I really like it! Plus, it has pockets and the fabric is really nice (silk). This dress personally isn't for me. For someone of my stature, this pattern is really overwhelming, even in a petite size. It's gorgeous, fits TTS and is a great quality dress! I would recommend this if you really like it and I think it's worth full price. I just can't get past the gigantic-ness of this pattern on me.
Floating Sparks Cardigan $98 Moth
Hey, it's not bad, but let me tell you...this cardigan has about a million snaps and on this cardigan, they were NOT sewed on well. To boot, they snapped together extremely tightly, so every time I unsnapped one, I felt like I was going to tear a button off. That is the first thing that turned me off to this sweater. Secondly, I don't care for how it looks closed. This may be another feature of my small stature, but I find it extremely overwhelming and the pockets are a little weird. It's comfy though and seems warm. I say, wait for the sale if you can. If this were $88 it might be worth full price, but $59.95 seems about right for this one.
So that's it! I hope to make another trip to Anthro this weekend, so I'll have some more reviews for you. And for those of you keeping score at home, I actually finally got my grubby little hands on a Salty Seas Dress!!!! It will have to be shortened at the hem and the straps will have to be shortened, but I adore it! Now...I just have to wait
Happy Friday everyone!
Oh my ... 9 months til you'll be able to wear the Salty Seas Dress? Kay, is there something you're not telling us? :P Congrats on the sale scores! Great deals all around!!
ReplyDeleteLOL...I'm a doof! I meant to write 7 months...and NO...it's not what you're thinking! Don't start any rumors or my mom will freak out! Hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteHahaha you are hilarious!! Okay, okay, just curious! :P Is that the Silken Stitches Dress again? I think the color is really beautiful on you. I'm such a sucker for those necklines too ... ugh, I totally might cave on that one when it goes on sale. :/ Such a pretty color and a lovely neckline! And the Floating Sparks Cardigan adds a cool color combo to it too.

Kay,
ReplyDeleteI thought the same as Mandy. Then I counted and realized you meant Seven. I agree the Lappula Print is a bit in your face. But I love how Anthro topped the dress with the Refined Cord Shirtdress. And I can't believe how fast Mandy hit on that pairing and used it for her own outfit. Don't you have the Refined Cord dress? You could hide much of the Large print by doing the same. Although I noticed from your side photo that Edme and Esyllte sure didn't try to match the side seems with the print. I sure wouldn't pay $168 for the dress, Silk or not. Wait for sale. But you would look like a doll in the catalog outfit.
Doesn't sound like you did too much sale damage. And you got something you needed that was in your Wish List.
Looking forward to more reviews.
I don't suppose you have seen the Handpainted Poppies Sweatercoat in one of your numerous stores have you? I'm dying for someone (preferably a blogger) to review that gorgeous piece of work and tell me it stinks.
Poppies
Mandy! OMG, first of all, I didn't even realize you had renamed your bloggie and it's so cute! I like the southward stop as a sweatercoat! And yes, that is the Silken Stitches again. It's cute, def wait for the sale. It's so lightweight.
ReplyDeleteLaura,
I hadn't even REALIZED they had styled the Refined Cord that way until you pointed it out and I looked closely at the picture. I can't decide quite how I feel about it. Maybe because I am married so much to the idea that the dress is...uh...a dress, LOL and I love it so. And yes, I certainly have one. I also didn't even notice the thing about the seams not matching and that totally bothers me too. It is a nice feeling dress though and fits nicely. *shrug*
Handpainted Poppies! Oh, my! I've been swooning over this! I haven't been in a store in a while, so I haven't seen it, but I'll be stopping by soon and I'll be sure to grab one if I see it and tell you it stinks, LOL.
I tried the Lappula dress on last night - I loved it on the display - but it was a disasterous sack on me! I agree though, it was super pretty for someone with more height! Yummers - I wish I could taste some of your oatmeal raisin cookies - they are my fave!
ReplyDeleteI am getting a good giggle out of the mathematical error and the suspiscion it stirred up. Too funny!
