High Tea.

I threw a low-grade diva fit at rehearsal over a period of 45 seconds tonight and I couldn't believe it was happening. As a singer, I don't usually find myself feeling cocky or entitled enough to have a diva-fit unless something absolutely nuts is happening. I think I have a right to stand up for myself when my vocal comfort is potentially compromised. But I'm not a diva...at least...I don't think I am.

Anyway...tonight was the first time I wore something other than my pj's or my work uniform during the day in a few days. It felt good.

Blouse: Anthropologie High Tea Blouse
Cardi: Anthropologie Slow and Steady Cardigan by Wendi Reed
Necklace: Anthropologie Gilded Impatiens Necklace
Jeans: Gap Kids

I don't think I've obsessed over two pieces more than the High Tea Blouse and the Slow and Steady Cardigan. The High Tea Blouse was one of the first items I really became in love with at Anthro last July. I love the feminine details on it and the hemline is to die for. The cardi is just so darn cute, I was so happy to snap it up on a popback!

I must confess, the necklace is the only piece of jewelery that I own from Anthropologie. Partly because I'm not really a necklace girl and I make a lot of my own earrings myself. I hardly ever wear this piece due to the sheer major-ness of it, but it was $10 and I made it work today.

It's almost Friday! Enjoy the rest of the week. Hasn't snowed more than an inch this week...I'll take it!

Worst Luck Ever.

Well readers, it's not a happy post. I had great plans for today. I was going to go to work from 5am-9am and then two of my good friends and I were going to go shopping (including Anthro) I was on my way to work this morning and I was just chillin' at a red light waiting for the light to change at 4:47am or so. Then BAM!!! A car comes between me and the other car waiting at the light, sideswipes me and presumably the other car and PWNS my driver's side mirror and scrapes up the drivers side. I was completely terrified and also PISSED.

If you are a reader of my blog, you know that I was involved in another accident a few months ago, in which someone hit me in a rotary and I suffered a minor back injury for which I was in Physical Therapy. I am still in some pain, but I was just released from PT (to do the exercises on my own at home) on the 23rd of November and I also received my car back that VERY SAME DAY.

AND NOW THIS.

I don't think I'm hurt, but I am still recovering from my last impact. Luckily, a sideswipe isn't as powerful an impact as a direct hit to the side panel, I totally tensed up when it happened. I'm hoping, this doesn't further my yet-to-be-healed back injury and that I will be fine soon. I will be needing a rental as I cannot drive without a driver's side mirror. I would need to be changing lanes eventually. I was totally going to wear my Blooming Lattice Cardigan and High Tea Blouse to the mall...so here it is...in the car. My poor car...

So...that was going to be the OOTD. Thanks for listening to my whining. I'm going to buy some lottery tickets, because my luck should be turning around soon. This is just too messed up.

10.10.10 Sunday Reviews and an OOTD

Happy Sunday, all! I hope everyone is enjoying the Columbus Day weekend! AAAAAAAND...

It's 10/10/10! Holy Moly! I love when dates like this happen! I got married on 07/07/07 and part of me believes that dates like this are good luck! Hope you are doing something fun today!

I stopped into Anthro on my way to work yesterday and had exactly 8 minutes to try on some things in the dressing room (I stopped by specifically to purchase the Refined Cord Shirtdress since I could NOT stop thinking about it since trying it on a month ago). Here's what I grabbed for you guys:

Mystery Moulinette Soeurs Dress $168 (??)

Hm. Okay. This dress seems very....um...like something I would have grabbed to wear to a party or a school dance in 7th grade. The material is nice and the fit is okay, but something about it doesn't seem very Anthro. It just makes me think about 7th grade, which for me was in the late 80's. Pass.

Switching Sides Sweater $118 Moth & Wall Street Skirt $88 Moulinette Soeurs

First off, the sweater: How adorable! This is a very "me" sweater, so when I saw it hit the website, I just had to try it on. It's simply adorable. The fabric is soft all around and the different colorways are just so cute. This is the gray colorway and it's darling and fits awesome. $118 is a little high for me, so I'll pick it up when it hits sale.

Now for the skirt...meh. I'm not quite sure who came up with the name Wall Street Skirt? It looks really cute with the sweater, but if you are petite, you should order the petite size online. Hemming this will ruin the beautiful design on the front. Otherwise, it's a cute skirt, that fits TTS. It's a thin wale corduroy and $88 is a good price for a skirt at Anthro! I think it's cute, but it's not really my style. Pass.

Peppered & Striped Skirt $128 Tracy Reese

I know this skirt has been reviewed to death, but I decided to throw my .02 in. It's a cute skirt and well-made (Tracy Reese for goodness sake), but I'm not quite sure it's a winner for a petite frame. On me, I think it's making me look a bit dowdy. If you love this and you are 5'2 or smaller, wait for the sale and get this altered a few inches. It would probably be super cutie-cute if it were 3"-4" shorter.

And here's my OOTD...my beloved High Tea Blouse and me are finally together. We've come a long way to get here and I had to call many Anthros, but finally tracked down this pretty in Harvard Square. Yay!

It's Sunday night, so we'll be broadcasting a brand-new, live Dereck and Kay Show tonight at 6pm on Blog Talk Radio! Please join us live or listen to an archived episode on the website! Happy Weekend everyone!
