Election Day Reviews: New Dresses and Sweaters

Good morning, Ladies!! WHAT A SALE TODAY! I am tempted by some items (especially the Kirklees and the In-in-Lines Cardi), but the second cuts I was hoping for didn't really happen (with the exception of the Dreamy Drape Dress which I'm tempted to buy in Black). In the meantime, I have some more reviews for you!

I look baffled in these pictures because...well...I am. I loved this on the website, but in person, it just didn't seem to make much sense. The sleeves are quite tight. I also wasn't sure how to wear this; buttoned up? Unbuttoned? I don't know. The ends of the sleeves are really beautiful though. Meh. Back to the racks.
Alice in Autumn Sweatercoat $168 Charlie & Robin

Here is the famous Alice in Autumn Sweatercoat in the new red colorway. It's amazingly cute! You would need a giant scarf to cover your neck if you wore this outside though. I don't know about you guys, but if my neck is exposed and the rest of my body is covered, I am freezing. So, this isn't super, super practical, but it's adorable. It's not at all overwhelming for a petite frame in my opinion, so if you are little, don't be afraid to try this. It's a little on the light side, so this won't keep you super warm, but you will be very cute!

First Pick Cardi $148 Field Flower

I love Wendi Reed Sweaters, I really do. I saw this one on the website and thought it was adorable. I was a little surprised when I saw it on the hanger and thought it wasn't as cute. On, I thought it was even less cute. Something about the poodle-like curly wool on the shoulders weirds me out. It's a cute design, but it's just not for me. If you like this, wait for the sale for sure.

Um...wow. The model shot of this looks really cute with the dress being worn over jeans with boots. That being said, wow. On the good side, it is an extremely soft silk and is well made. I don't think it warrants a $168 price tag. Um...it looks on me like a maternity dress. Not for a petite...amazons rejoice, this is all yours. Pass.

I had high expectations for this one since I saw it online and absolutely drooled over it! How cute are the little crocheted edges? Unfortunately, this sweater was disappointing. It was boxy and unflattering and the little crocheted pieces fell in bad places. It wasn't a soft wool, it was a little stiff and it just made me sad. I will be passing on this. Too bad.

Easy-as-Pie Dress $138 Edme & Esyllte

Let it be known that I am not partial to "Ensemble Dresses", I hate the idea of being forced into a top and a skirt that can never be separated. It's just me. That being said, I actually do like this little dress. When I spotted it online, I just thought it was adorable. It was very adorable on! It's a little big on me and a belt would probably help it, but I do really like it. I think $138 is a very fair price! The top is soft and sheer, but not too sheer! The skirt is a touch long, but nothing a quick hem job wouldn't fix! Wishlisted!

It's a busy week for me, but I'll be posting more reviews some time later in the week! I hope you are having a great day and did your civic duty today AND scored some great Anthro markdowns :)

  1. I agree that if my neck is exposed im freezing. Thats why I hardly wear off the shoulder tops in the winter. Btw that last dress looks super cute on you. The colors are very pretty.
