Reviewed: Some Autumn Dresses

Happy Weekend, Ladies! I'll bet a lot of you are excited about this Holiday weekend! I am excited too! I work retail and I'm excited about the flood of sales we are anticipating this weekend...bring it! It's weekend and for me, that means weekend Super Smash Bros Brawl, Food and Drinks. My husband, my good friend and me have this dumb tournament going for like 5 years. Super Smash Bros Brawl is a fighting game for the Nintendo Wii. It features all of Nintendo's Trademark characters such as Mario, Kirby, Zelda...etc. The rules are simple...damage your opponent and knock them off the screen for a KO. The more you pummel your opponent, the lighter they become and easier for them to fly off the screen. I happen to be a Pikachu player. Why? Cause he's adorable and super annoying when he kicks people's asses.

Anyway...we get together and play 2 minute rounds. Whoever gets to 100 KO's first (within 2, like tennis) wins the night and doesn't get a punishment. Punishment for coming in 2nd is that you make the cocktails during the next game. Punishment for coming in 3rd is that you order (and possibly) pick up the food at the next game. The person with the most KO's at the Fall/Spring Equinox, or Summer/Winter Solstice wins the season. Kind of crazy...but it's what we do once a week. So, now you know that not only am I am Anthro Fanatic, I'm also a NERD.

Anyway, I made my way over to the one store I didn't visit yesterday to do some reviews. Of course, I had to look to see what was going on in the sale room and look what I found:

By the way something, I am blatantly stealing copying Cat from Anthrosdottir's photo technique because I am sick of holding the camera. I don't think I did as good of a job as she usually does, but you get the picture (no pun intended). Anyway...behold! The elusive Two-Wheeler Shirtdress (on sale $59.99)!!!!!!! They had at least 5 or 6 at the Natick, MA store this morning. There was a woman in line behind me with one in her hot little hands too. This was the only 0...of course I nabbed it. Shopping Moratorium FAIL.

In the meantime, I did try on some dresses!

Cascading Bow Dress $118
Moulinette Soeurs

As you can tell by the look on my face, I don't really think this dress is working for me. I am officially too petite for Moulinette Soeurs dresses because this is the 3rd one I've tried on that's too big. I also don't particularly like this dress for myself because the shape is not flattering, but the bows are cute. The material is substantial and good quality. It's a cute dress, just not for a little teeny person like me who buys their jeans at Gap Kids.

Turbine Dress $118 Deletta

So, obviously, I have not mastered the art of posing for these photos and looking like I don't want to commit a homicide. This dress is very basic and not quirky enough for me. It is a super soft jersey and the front is nice. The dress is very basic and cute. It fits TTS and the pockets are nice, although I question pockets on a jersey dress because you can see everything you put inside.

Ruffled Plaid Dress $158 Floreat

Here was a dress I could handle! I LOVE THIS. It's so pretty in person and there are several reviews on the website that say that it is itchy, but I didn't find that it was itchy at all. The size 0 fit well, and I think it's a really sophisticated little frock. The belt is cute, but not very special. You may want to put on a nicer belt. This is definitely on my wishlist for sure!

That's all I've got for you! Wish me luck in the Smash Tournament tonight!

  1. ohhh...you found a two-wheeler dress. I had no luck, so out of desperation, bought one that popped up on eBay. No sale price for me, but at last it's mine!! I like the Turbine on you - but thanks for bringing up the problem of knit pockets - never thought of that! The Ruffled Plaid is gorgeous!

  2. Kay,

Love your Two Wheeler Dress. if I had an Anthro near me, I would have that dress.

You did great with the camera. This is how I do all my photos, except I don't use the mirror.

Your camera might be angled too much, so it's elongating your photos. Also raise it higher and/or move it further back to get more area in your field.

I love the Ruffled Plaid. If AnthroYogi (Katie) determines that the Babergh will not work for me, the Ruffled Plaid is a possibility that's next in my list.

Good luck as Pikachu, and kick some butt with all those cool power moves.

You're just like my 22 year old son. In fact he grew up with Pokemon. All he does is play video and PC games.
